Fat Cattle. — 156 yarded, mostly lightweight steers and heiferß, with a few prime bullocks. Owing to competition for export to Sydney prime bullocks advanced in price to fully 35s per 1001 b. Other sorts sold irregularly ; good beef, 29a to 32a ; and other sorts, 24s to 28s per 1001 b. Prime bullocks £12 to £15 5s ; pood steers, £8 10a to £11 ; lighter sortß, £6 15s to £8 ; heifers, £5 10s to £8 10s, and up to £9 7a 6d for extra ; good c<>wb, £7 10s to £8 10s. up to £9 15s to £11 10s, and £11 15s for extra. Store Cattle. — A mixed entry, and a weaker sale. Calves, 15s ; yearlings, 22a 6d ; 15 to 18 months, £2 6s to £3 15s ; two-ypa'-nld heif< r*, £4 2s 6d : tw<> and h-half to three-y ar-- Id ste re; £5 Iss to £6 8s 6d ; three-yeur-old heifers, £4 7« 6«i ; dry cows, £2 5s to £4 ; best dairy cowb, £7 to £9 5s ; others, £4 0s to £6 10s Fai Sheep. — 3500 penned. Theie were no buyers for export tc Sydney, and freezer*
holding off, consequently all classes were easier. A few extra prime wethers sold at 22s 6d to 27s ; freezers, 16s to 20s ; lighter, 13s to 15s 6d ; 'prime heavy ewes, 18s to 20« lOd ; others, 11s 5d to 17s 6d ; prime merino wethers, 15s 6d to 18s 5d ; others, 12s 9d to 14s lOd; ewes, 9s 6d Store Sheep.— 47so penned, principally wethers and hoggets. No ewes changed hands, and wethers and hoggete were easier. Wethers, 12a to 14s 4d ; hoggets, 7s 6d to 10s 2d.
Pigs. — 473 yarded. Fata were easier, but stores sold well, about 100 going to Southland. Baconers, 40s, 52a, to 56s— equal to 4d per lb ; porkers, 22s to 36s — or 4}d to 4fd per lb ; large stores, 22s 6d to 80s ; smaller, 12s to 20s ; suckers and weanen, 7s 6d to 11s 6d.
