OBITUARY.

SISTER SAINT BASIL. It is with deepest regret we record the death of this religious which occurred at Napier on the 3rd inst. Sister Snnt Basil was the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hannifin of Waimate, and was born in County Kerry, Ireland. She came to New Zealand about 14 years ago, aad afterwards, in her nineteenth year, joined the Order of the Sisters of the Mission, being from then till the time of her lamented demise being the edification of the communities in which she lived. Two of tne four sisters of Sister St. Basil have been for many years members of the Order of St. Joseph. In addition to these and her devoted parents, a brother is also left to mourn her loss. After a prolonged and painful illness this devoted servant of God was called by her eternal Father to reap the reward of a holy and blameless life. To her parents, sisters, and brother we extend our heartfelt sympathy in this their sad bereavement. — R.I.P,
