FIRST MARRIAGE IN THE SACRED HEART CHURCH, HYDE.

WEDNESDAY, 20th nit, in the Sacred Heart Church took place the marriage of tbe fourth daughter of the late Mr W. Annett, Mies Ellen A. Annett, to Mr M. Prendergast, both of Hyde. By the by the bridegroom is tbe son of a gentleman who bails from Limerick, tbe city of the violated treaty, and the " Bird of Thomond " should yield him the palm in describing the famous scenes of historical Limerick, from Garryowen to Tbomondgate, the treaty stone, and tbe " ba tered towers "of old King John, ursubdued by William's guns or the ravages of time. The officiating minist'r was the rector of the parish, Father O'Donnell, assisted by the Rev Father DoraD, who biaved the wreck of tbe Wairarapa. Ihe bride's attire and that of her friends was everything that good taste could suggest. She was dressed in soft white muslin, trimmed with white lace and white satin ribbon, witb a long white net veil falling from a coronet of orange blossoms. Tbe bridesmaid, Miss Annett, wore a dress of blue serge, trimmed with white braid, the vest being of cream velve\ white hat, trimmed with satin ribboD, and white fi iwers under the brim and left side. Tbe bride's no other was in black cashmere and silk costnme, black bonnet, trimmed with plumes and jet, Mrs Beatty, sister of the bride, wore a French grey coat and skirt with water silk, hat of cream, trimmed with ribbon and pink flowers. Miaß Prendergast wore serge trimmed with water sLk, bat of black trimmed with buttercups. Among those present were Mr P. Rennie, J.P , brother-in-law to the bridegroom, Bad family. At tbe end of the Nuptial Mass the rev pastor delivered a short address on the sacrament of matrimony. He reminded the newl} -married couple ot the graces they had received in the sacramer t of matrimony, and the obligation they had contracted one towards auother. The ceremony being concluded, the wedding party went to MrsAnneti's where a few pleasant bourß were spent, and then then newly-married couple, amidst much jubilation, took their departure for Dnnedin.
