A. Q. Tame and Co, report oa the markets for January 11 :— Owing to the holidays our country sales bare been interrupted and we have not yet resumed full operations. Fat Sheep — The market for fat sheep, or sheep of any kind ii decidedly weak, and lower prices have had to be accepted all round. We quote gocd Jines of fat wethers, 9) to 9s 61 ; medium weights, 7i to Ba. Fat Lambs are in good demand for freezing, but are scarce. We could place large lines at good prices. We quote ttore wethers, S*od 4 tooth, 6s to 7s 6 1. At our sale at Lower Hutton Tuesday catt'.e sold particularly well, rpßultinu in a clearance, except a few dairy cows. Weaners, 20i to 25* ; yearlings, L2to L 2 10*; 2 year olds, L 3 to L 3 103 ; bullocks, L 4 s';5 ' ; old cows at low prices. Store Sheep— Wethers with few ewes, 6s to 69 6d ; Romney ram«, f.m. L 2 2a. Store Pigs— Slips, 13* to 15s ; and big demand for more young sows 24^. Horses — We held our usual horse sale on Siturday. The entry was fair, but nothin? worth special mention. We off-red on behalf of a Wairarapa cuent a piir of nice buggy ponies which were passed in unsold, but have s nee been placed privately. Bidding iras rather dull, except for anything like gooi txpiess harsep, whiah always command attention. We sold a useful draught gelding for Ll2 ; light harness horse 0 , Lstv L 7 lOi , hacks a' la'e quotutio .8. HeaUy gooi harness horses are in demand, aho express horb°s. Sheepskins — A 1 coming forward are quickly bought up at full preseiit market rates but the latt drop in wool has, of course, to be allowed for. We quote, from 3J to 4d per lb for good well-woolled skins. Ohick wheat, 2s 3d to 2s 6<l. Oatp, Is 61 to Is 10J.
