DUNEDIN HORSE BALEYARDS.
Messrs. Wright, Stkphknson and Co. report as rol'ows :—: — A moderately largo entry of horses was offered at our sale on Saturday last, but we regret to say the demaod for all sorts was very slack. The teature of the sale was was a draft of very fine spring van and spring cart colts and fillies from Sydney ; but even for these the demand was far below what we Bhould have expected the quality of the horses to command. The fact of their being unbroken, no doubt, in a great measure accounted for the slack demand ; indeed, we are sure tbat, had they been ready f r work, no difficulty would have been experienced in qnittmg them at satisfactory prices. Backs and harness horses were also very slow of sale. For draughts
there was a fair enquiry, bat of this description we offered very few. For first-clasi draughts (extra heary), L 25 to L3O ; good ordinary do (youne), LlB to L 22 ; medium do, Ll2 to Ll6 ; aged do, L 6 to LlO ; good hacks and harness horses, Ll2 to Ll6 ; medium do, L 7 to L 9; light and inferior do, L 2 10s to L 5.
