This Nbw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Aoknct Co., Limited, report for week ending March 14, as follows :—: — Bore Cattle — A moderately fair demand exists for well grown bullocks in forward condition, and Borne business passing, but prices are now more in favour of buyers. Store Sheep— The number of thes« changing hands is very considerable. Tho demand still continues good, doub'e the number generally to hand ould be disposed of wi'hou' any trouble. Wool — There is very little being now done in the local market, sales being confined to oddments stragglers and wo r >lshe<l remnants All offered met with a fair demand and realised prices quite in sympathy with Home rates. Sbeepskins — A very fair demand continues to be experienced for these, and the tendency of pricta more in favour of sellers, competition brisk for all sorts. Well woolled large green crossbred pelts, free from cuts, also good lambskins, had tne preference, for which prices were fully up to last weeks. Country dry crossbreds, inferior to medium, brought Is 91 to 3i 8i ; do do merino, Is 6d tn 2a 6d ; full-woolled crossbreds, 4a to 5s 8d ; do do merino, 3a to 53 2d ; dry pelts 2d to Is 4d ; best green crossbred pelts, 2a to 2s 6d ; selected, 2s 7d to 2a lOd ; medium to good, Is 8d to 2s ; green merino peltf>, Is 3d to la 7d ; green lambskins, best, 2s 21 to 2s 7d ; medium to good, Is 8d to 2s each. Babbitskins— Just now the supply is Email, but the demand is good. Prices are much lower than they were previous to the la°t two pabhc sales in London. The few well-furred skins coming to hand fetch 8d to lOd ; late spring and summer, 5d to 6d ; Buckerg and balfgrown, l£d to 3i per lb. Hides— There is no change to note. All descriptions are saleable at prices according to weight nod condition, which heavy, well-saved, and free from scars have the preference. Quotations for heavy, in perfect condition, 2{d to 2£d ; 651 b and upwards— very few of which come to market, 2\ J to 3i ; average country hides, l£d to 2d ; light, l^d to l£d ; inferior and slippy, £d to Id per lb, Tallow — Good demand exuta. Best-rendered mutton, 18a 6d to Ids 6d ; medium to good, 16a to 18s ; infeiior to medium, 13a to good, 9a to 12s per cwt. Gram — Wheat : Occasional lots are coming to hand threshed out of the Btook, and, as might be expected, not exactly iv the be it of condition. A few sales are being tff cted, but the busnesa done is a haud-to-mouth one. Millern being the only operators, the market shows little animation. Best miihog, Tuscaa and velvet (but little of the former rtquired), 4s to 4s 3i ; medium to good, 3* 6 1 to 3s 10 1 ; inferior, 2s 3d to 3s 3d (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms). — Oats : Owing to the fact that oid stocks are now almost, if not altogether, cleared out, and that but very few of the now ate now on the market, business is almos at a standstill. A moderate- demand for good milling sorts exists. Grass Seeds — Undressed rjegraas in best demand, only rxceptionally clean will sell. Machine dreaeed has pome enquiry, but prices txptcted by growers fail to secure orders. Q lotations for the general run of undressed. Is 91 to 2s 4^ 1 ; extra cieaa, 2s 6 1 to 3< ; machine dressed, 3s 6 J to 4^, ex store, sacks extra.net. — Cocksfoot seed has but little attentu n. Qjotations nominal, say fjr beet, 4J to 4£.i ; medium, 2f I to 3£d per lb. Potatoes — Mai Let over supplied wi'h inferior sorts, while really good are scree and worth 45s to 50a ; kidneys and inferior d ffijult to place at over 30 i to 35s per ton. Chaff — Thesjppiy sufficient to satiay present demand and prices are steady, say for beat, 57s to 60a ; a shade more for extra prime, inferior and new, 40a to 53s per ion. Dairy Produce— Prime salt butter, da ry, firm at 7^l to 8i ; factory, lOd to lid per lb, Factory made ceese has a little more inquiry, but buyers decline to improve on late quotations which are for medium sizi, 4^l to 4i i ; loaf shape, 4Ad to 4J I ; dairy made, 3d to 4d p«r lb. Fiax — Local buyers decline to give prices lately current. Best, LlB to LIU 10s ; txtra prime, L2O ; medium to good, Ll6 to Ll7 10s ; inferior, Ll3 to Ll4 per too. MEB3BB. Bthonach Bbos. and Mobbis report as follows for week ending March 9 : — Fat Cattle.— A fair demand for best quality aad other sorta at full value. Fat Sheep. — There were several breeders and graziera present, but prices were too high to tempt them. Fat Lambs — Bidding was brisk, and good prices ruled. Pig?. — Sales are quiet at prices without change. Wool. — The onl> business done is confined to small citalognes of station and back cuntry oddments, which elicit fair competition Sheepskins. — Invariably a good demand prevails, both dry and green have good attention. Rabbitskins.— There are buyers for all submitted, and full rates are all secured. Hides, — Market unaltered and more than supplied with light sorts. Tallow.— No alteration to report. Fair demand exists. Grain. — Wheat: Further improvement to note. There are some samples of the new crop now oa the market, which will be difficult to vl»ce except at price* which will hardly satisfy growers. Oats: Quiet business on the basis of prices ruling last week. Barley : — There is no business of any consequence passing in malting, hardly any of the new crop being yet on the market.

Chaff : Medium and inferior sorts, which were hard to place previously, are now mere readily disposed of. Grass Heed : —The business in this is very limited, the only sorts that have ecquiry biing machine dreaded, grown from old pasture. Mb F. VTebnan, King street, reports :—Wholesale prices —Oats: Is 5d to Is 7d (bass extra), demand quiet. Wheat (easier) : milling, 4s 0d to 4s 3 1 ; fowl*', '2* fvl to 3<t 61, sacks included. Chaff: Market, full supply—£2 0? Od to £3 2a 6d ; hay, oaten, £3 0s ; ryegraes, £3. Bran, £3 Os. Pollard, £4 os. Potatoes, kidneys, new, local, £,2 (market bare) ; derwents, £2 5s od. Flour : roller, £12 to £12 15 ; stone, £11 5s to £11 15*. Frefch butter, 7d to 10J ; salt, nominal for prim n, 7d. Eggs, Is Od. Oatmeal, £9 oa.
