Wright, Stephknsox and Co., report as follows :— At our usual w^ekiv sale held on Saturday, January 3, a very small entry of horses was off Ted, and owing no doubt to the large num ber of people being out of town, tho sale was very poorly atttnded. The only fresh horses forward were draughts from Mr, Twentyman Hodgson and Mr. K. Dixon (of Chnstcburch), consisting of cirri <ige aud bugj;y horses, hacks, and spring van horses, but owing to there being so few buyers prespnt, pries were anything but encouraging. We quo'e .— Really first-cuss neavy draught geldings, £22 to £27 ; medium draught horses, £14 t.> £2.) ; light aid agei draught horses, £7 io £12 ; goad soring-Cirten, £10 to £15 ; we l-ma'ch^d carnage pairs, £40 to £50; w 11-matched buggy pairs, £30 to £40; fiistclass hunters, £20 to £30.
