A NOBLE SISTER.
0 Boston Pilot.') " Tas Marquise de Traomhouse (Sister U-abrielle) lia^, with sevenother SLsters of Charity, left France to minister to convicts in New Caledonia. The Marquise was decorated with the Cross of theLegion of Honor for her devoted care of tho wounded during thewar." Sister Gibrielle, once Marquise, will not be classed, perhaps, with, the " strong-minded women', of our time, even though sha has won the distinction of a national decoration. Ln the hearts of herself and her seven Sisters there is not one of the " advanced opinions " that somany American women are proud of. They never thought of other " rights" than those which God has- fitted them for. And yet no on* will suy that tlie Cross of the Legion of Honor ever showed to bet*«r a Ivantage on the glittering broast of a soldier than on the ser>'e dressof Sister Gabrielle. Doubtless she lia^ earned it in the field "and thehispital; and now she means to earn a higher reward by devoting her life to the wants of the transported Communists, and convincing thembefore they die that their hatred of religion aiij its ministers was a madness and an error.
