Lower Hutt. —Since 9th January last, James Robert Marshall, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 8 in., fitter, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, medium nose, right little finger deformed ; neatly dressed in grey coat and trousers, black shirt, and shoes (no hat); quiet manner; fond of liquor and occasionally goes on drinkingbouts during which he loses his memory, wanders, and becomes unkempt. Wellington South— Thawley, missing (see Police Gazette, 1945, page 209) : The slacks and one of the slippers were found on the beach between Oliiro Bay and Island Bay on 27th ultimo.
