PROPERTY RECOVERED
Auckland. —IDA MAY HAMILTON, watches, &c., stolen : The ring has been recovered by the Auckland police in possession of Thomas William James, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 773, and “ Property Stolen ” this issue. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 738.)
Lower Hutt.— NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department’s) warehouse broken into : On 7th ultimo, the following watches and binoculars were found among some gorse on the roadside at Silvcrstream : Eighty gentlemen’s pocket watches ; thirteen wristlet stop watches ; twentyone pocket stop watches ; and nineteen pairs of binoculars including the pair of Carl Zeiss Jena and six pairs of Woollensack makes. Wellington. PONIMONI’S dwelling broken into : The watch has been recovered by the Wellington police, and David Alexander Sharp, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 819, convicted of the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 249.)
Wellington.— ALßEßT ERNEST D’ATH, clothing, &c., stolen : Portion of the stolen property has been recovered by the Wellington police, and David Alexander Sharp convicted of the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 552.)
Wellington. DOROTHY VOICE, clothing &c., stolen : Portion of the stolen property has been recovered by the Wellington police, and David Alexander Sharp convicted of tho offence. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 577.)
Wellington. —FßANClS LANG’S bicycle has been recovered by the Wellington police from Thomas Murray, who stated that ho purchased it from a Man of whom no description is available. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 687.)
CHRISTCHURCH TECHNICAL COLLEGE rifle, &c., stolen The rifle and 2,050 rounds of ammunition have -been recovered by the Christchurch police, and tho offenders located. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 845.)
