SPECIAL NOTICE

Body of Child found Petone. —At 6 p.m. on 9th ultimo, the dead body of a new-born male European child was found in the Hutt River near the Pipe Bridge. The body was naked and in a state of decomposition. The umbilical cord had not been tied. A post-mortem examination revealed that death had occurred about three or four weeks previously to the finding of the body, and it was apparently a full-time child, weighing 6,} lb., and that it had breathed. Any information is to be forwarded to the Superintendent of Police, Wellington.
