C. L. N. NEWALL, Governor-General. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of June, 1942. Present: His Excellency the Governor-General in Council. Pursuant to the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations. REGULATIONS. 1. These regulations may be cited as the Motor-vehicles Emergency Regulations 1940, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the. Motor-vehicles Emergency Regulations 1940* (hereinafter referred to as the principal regulations). 2. The principal regulations are hereby amended by revoking Regulation 3, and substituting the following regulation:— “ 3. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Motor-vehicles Act 1924, or in the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 f, the Commissioner of Transport may, without fee, issue a motor-driver’s license under Part II of the said Act to any member of His Majesty’s naval, military, or air forces or of any other force that is for the time being lawfully in New Zealand who is required for the purposes of any of those forces to drive motor-vehicles and who satisfies the Commissioner or any person duly authorized by the Commissioner for the purpose that he is qualified to be the holder of a motor-driver’s license. Any motor-driver’s license issued under this regulation may at any time be revoked by the Commissioner. Unless so revoked, every such license shall continue in force until the end of the first complete month following the termination of the present war.” C. A. JEFFERY, Clerk of the Executive Council.
