CHRISTMAS MESSAGE.
To the Officers and Men of the New Zealand Police Force. Gentlemen, — On behalf of the Prime Minister and myself, I desire to convey to you and to your wives and families our best wishes for a Happy Christmas and a Bright and Prosperous New Year. Though our country is now facing the greatest crisis in its history, I trust that the coming year will see the British Commonwealth of Nations and its Allies emerge victorious over the forces of aggression and oppression. I wish to express my warm appreciation of the loyal and efficient service rendered by all ranks during these trying times and particularly of the great assistance rendered to me by your Commissioner, Mr. D. J. Cummings. I feel confident that I can count on a continuance of the fullest co-operation of yourselves and your association in all matters concerning the well-being of the Force. P. C. WEBB, Minister in Charge of Police Department.
