PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. Between 12th January and sth February last, from the dwelling of DORIS MARTIN, 39 Montague Street, Newton, a gentlemen’s silver square Rolex wristlet watch, ' second-hand missing, Arabic numerals, “ C.M.” scratched on outside case, purchased in Palmerston North, brown leather strap with buckle ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Auckland. During the nights of 15th and 25th February last, from rooms in the Nurses’ Home, Mental Hospital, the property of DOROTHY JUNE STEDMAN WELLS, and others, a ladies’ gold signet ring with shield of hexagonal shape, engraved “ E.M.C.,” three gold strips on each side of shield; a ladies’ old gold dress ring, engraved leaf on it, set with small opal in centre and two small diamonds on each side of opal, raised piece of gold on each side to join leaf to band; a chromium circular powder-compact, about 2 in. diameter ; £l3 12s. 2|d in money ; and thirty Capstan cigarettes ; total value, £ls 19s. Rings identifiable.

Auckland. —Between 25th February and 9th March last, from a room in The Mansions Boardinghouse, Whittaker Place, the property of DAISY ALE A CORNISH, a ladies’ chromium- hexagon-shaped fob watch, Arabic numerals, set in round wine-coloured leather case, with leather covered brooch and plaited thong to match ; value £3. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between 22nd and 24th March last, from the ship “ Owhiti,” the property of CAPTAIN ALLAN GLASS, 548 Manakau Road, Epsom, a gentlemen’s silver open-face keyless 16-jewel pocket watch, dent in case between numeral “'7 ’’and “8,” No. 134-249, repair No. “i 39”; a pocket knife; and a nickel two-cell torch: total value, £5 4s. Watch identifiable.

Auckland. l2th ultimo, from the billiard-saloon of JOHN WILLIAM DAVIDSON, High Street, a set of Ivorette billiard balls in reddish-brown wooden box with green felt lining ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. — ultimo, from the dwelling of NANCY MARY CUDDY, 27 St. Paul Street, the property of HOME ENTERTAINERS, LTD., 323 Karangahape Road, a fourvalve mantel model oblong A irking radio set, operates on direct current, cabinet of walnut finish, square dial with “ Airking ” on it, may have “ 1736 ” or “ 375-1736 ” in indelible pencil on back; value, £l6 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to —(1) J. K. Brown, age about twentyfour, height about 6 ft., ship’s fireman, thin build, dark complexion, black hair, dark eyes, long face; dressed in dark suit with light stripes. He signed on the ship “ Wairuna ”on the 15th ultimo. (2) Man, known as “ Biuev.” age about twenty-nine, height about 5 ft. 6 in., seaman, medium build, fair complexion and hair, round face ; dressed in grey-blue suit and grey sweater. Suspects called at Miss Cuddy’s dwelling, and while there expressed their interest in the radio and disconnected some of the wires on it. Auckland. —17th ultimo, from a room in the Palm Lynn Boardinghouse, Queen Street, the property of VERE DALY MASON, 11 Arlington Street, Wellington, a waist-length black sealskin fur cape, square shoulders, no collar, fastens with black cord at neck, black satin lining ; and a kimono of bright red satin material 'with birds and flowers in blue, white, and green, long sleeves ; total value, £4. Identifiable.

Auckland. Between the 12th and 14th ultimo, from a room in the Royal Hotel, the property of ARLES TREVOR CLARKE, Box 40, Opotiki, a pair of black enamel Zeiss field-glasses, folding type, No. 22342, “ Zeiss ” on right lens, “ Telact ” on left lens, 8x magnification, focusing adjustment on each lens, partly encased in black leather, 36 in. leather strap-j-value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. — Between the 20th and 26th February last, from a room at 101 Vincent Street, the property of ANNE MARY BOWMAN, a ladies’ 9 ct. gold open-face Swiss wristlet-watch, -f- in. in diameter, bevelled edge, black Arabic numerals, “ Betty ” on back case, winder missing and watch not in working order, 9 ct. gold square expanding bracelet; value, £5. Identifiable.

Papakura. —Between the 29 th March last and Bth ultimo, from the Papakura Military Camp, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a •303 calibre S.M.L.E. rifle, new condition, butt No. 28626, body No. 29791, web sling attached value, £8 2s. Identifiable.

Wairoa. — 12th ultimo, from the ladies’ rest-room, the property of BEATRICE ELANOR DELANEY, 369 Jackson Street, Petone, a ladies’ 9 ct. gold engagement ring, set with a cluster of eight diamonds with diamond in centre, platinum on each side of setting ; value, £26. Identifiable.

Wellington.— l9th ultimo, from the General Post-office, the property of BURRELL ALWYN TOVELL SOUNDY, 106 Tinakori Road, a black folding Ensign Selfix camera, f. 4.5 lens, wrapped in chamois leather, in brown leather case with shoulder-strap ; value, £l6 16s. Identifiable.

Blenheim. — Ist April, 1940, and 12th March last, the dwelling of HENRY McKELLAR WHITE RICHARDSON, Burleigh, was broken into and the following stolen : A 12 in. naval-pattern brass telescope, three or four draws, rosewood cover, small shutter over eyepiece, Torgraghi make; a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless hunting pocket watch; a gold double-curb watch-chain with bar keeper, snap at each end; and a number of coloured lead pencils; total value, £lO 12s. Watch and telescope identifiable.

Reefton. —Between the 20th and 28th ultimo, from a hut on the farm of JAMES AARON MITCHELL, Cronadun, a -303 calibre B.S.A. magazine rifle, Lee Enfield pattern,

Dunedin. Between the 24th and 28th March last, from the dwelling of ALICE MATILDA ALLAN, 14 Morrison Street, Caversham, a ladies’ 15 ct. gold dress ring, set with a light oval opal in claw setting, small chip off opal, “ Williamson ” on inside band, but ring has been repaired and part of the name may be missing; four pairs of fleshcoloured silk stockings; and £ll in notes; total value, £22 16s. Ring identifiable.
