APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Auckland.— Charles Jordan, alias Watson, alias Osyden, alias Richard John Percival, failing to maintain, is identical with Charles Francis Jordan, who died in the Sydney Hospital (Australia) on the 23rd January last. (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 471.)

Auckland. —Arthur Hugh Julian, false pretences : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1929, page 243.)

Auckland. Morris Daniel Andrews, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Petone police. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 766.)

Auckland. —F. Murray, false pretences, has been interviewed by the Auckland police, and he admitted the offence. He is identical with Charles Mozart Spinley, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 551. (See Police Gazette, 1939, pages 215 and 391.)

Auckland. —J. Murry, false pretences, has been interviewed by the Auckland police, and he admitted the offence. He is identical with Charles Mozart Spinley. (See Police Gazette, 1939, pages 317 and 391.)

Auckland.— Raymond Frederick Alfred Matthews, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 524.)

Auckland.— Tracy Fry, absent from Army, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 406.)

Auckland. —Herbert Arnei Ormond, absent from Army Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 456.)

Auckland. — Trevor Joseph Mathers, breach of probation Warrant cancelled. - (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 355.)

Auckland. James Hassstt, default of fines and costs, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (Sec Police Gazette, 1940, page 453.)

Tuakau. —Leslie Raymond Coles, inquired for, has been located by the New Plymouth police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 494.)

Hamilton.— Frederick George Taylor, failing to maintain, died in the Napier Public Hospital on the 7th ultimo. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 367.)

Hamilton. —Charles Joseph Seymour Smith, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Newton police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 392.)

Hamilton. — Whare Shelford, inquired for, has been located by the Auckland police, and warned to report to a Probation Officer. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 538.)

Rotorua. —Edward Louis Newman, default of balance of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Freeman’s Bay police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 516.)

Rotorua. — Robert Victor Turner, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Rotorua police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 494.)

Gisborne. — George Olliver, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Lower Hutt police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 437.

Raetihi. —Frank Lawler, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1940, page 323) : His height is incorrectly recorded and should read, “ 5 ft. 6 in.” All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.

Wanganui.—B. Hulme, obtaining credit by fraud : Robert Hulme, alias White, has been arrested for the offence by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 420.)

Palmerston North. — William George Makeham, absconding from State Institution, has been located by the Huntly police. He assumed the name George Colethorpe. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 246.)

Masterton.Thomas John Knutson, alias Knutsen, inquired for, has been located by the Ashhurst police. (Sec Police Gazette, 1939, page 526.)

Wellington. John Raymond Brown, default of fines and costs : the warrants have been executed by the Mount Cook police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 720.)

Wellington. — Noel Jack Counihan, undesirable immigrant, has been arrested by the Wellington police and deported (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 454.)

Wharf (Wellington).— Joseph Chatterton, deserting ship : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1940, pages 516 and 538.)

Blenheim. —Samuel Julian, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Queen Street Wharf (Auckland) police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 420.)

Hokitika. — George Anderson, escaping from mental hospital, has been arrested by the Dunedin police. His correct name is George Charles Anderson, and he admitted unlawfully using the bicycle and abandoning it at Arthur’s Pass. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 420.) :

Christchurch. — Douglas Lionel Pond, missing, has been located by the Green Island police. (See Police Gazette, 1936, page 230.)

Christchurch. — Donald Walter Curtis, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 414, and Photographs, page 55, is identical with Cyril Lewis Watson Withell, alias Donald McGregor, alias Donald Cameron, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 793, and Photographs, 1937, page 12. All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.

Christchurch. Edward James Tolhurst, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Greymouth police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 516.)

Dunedin. Reginald George Aubrey, inquired for: No further action is to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 186.)

Balclutha. John Junor, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Balclutha police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 420.)

Invercargill. Clifford Fox, escaping from borstal institution, has been arrested by the Christchurch police, and he admitted theft of the clothing from Fulton Street. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 538.)

Sydney (Australia). — Sydney Gower, alias Sydney Robert Witney, breaking, entering, and theft, has been arrested by the Sydney police. (See New Zealand Police Gazette, 1940, page 423.) (P. 40/584.)
