Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). — William Gilbert Jackson, ship - desertion, has been arrested by the Queen Street Wharf (Auckland) police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 885.)

Auckland. —Albert Arthur Miners, suspected of theft, has been arrested by the Otorohanga police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 980.)

Auckland. George Peterson, suspected of arson and theft, has been arrested by the Auckland police. His correct name is Arnold Tyley Hancock. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 689.)

Auckland. George Bain, inquired for : No further action required. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 978.)

Auckland. — Lawrence Rostrum Young, default of fines and costs, has paid the amounts to the Ponsonby police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 787.)

Auckland. — Arnold John Hardy, unlawfully converting motor-car, has been interviewed by the Invercargill police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 299.)

Auckland. — Daniel Wilkinson Walker, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Newton police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 58.)

Auckland. John Reynolds Hammond, default of fine and costs : The warrant has been executed by the Upper Hutt police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 57.)

Mercer. Herbert Kirk, missing, has been located by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 121.)

Hamilton. Henry Whistance, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Westport police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 845.)

Rotorua. — Sydney Herbert Hawthorne, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Devonport police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 336.)

Rotorua. Thomas Wilkinson, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Whakatane police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 926.)

Gisborne. — Cyril Morrell Daley, alias Joseph Dooley, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Te Whaiti police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 734.)

New Plymouth and Auckland. — Lawrence Roland Cowper, false pretences, was killed in Los Angeles on 23rd June last. (See Police Gazette, 1937, pages 197, 209, and 425.)

Napier.— Ernest James (Broker, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Huntly police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 59.)

Napier. William Arthur McMillan, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Johnsonville police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 59.)

Paiiiatua. — William Fulcher, default of fines and costs, has paid the amounts to the Pahiatua police. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 92.)

Petone. John Henry Parkinson, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Petone police. (Sec Police Gazette, 1940, pages 59 and 118.)

Wellington.— Thomas John Henry Foote, suspected of theft, has been interviewed by the Dunedin police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 63.)

Wellington.— John Richards, alias Franklin John Maurier, theft, has been arrested by the Wellington police. He had assumed the name John Warren. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 60.)

Wiiarf (Wellington). — D. Patten, ship-desertion: The warrant has been executed by the Auckland police. His correct name is David Francis Patten. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 950.)

Christchurch. Edward Francis Nicholls, alias Nickolls, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Ashburton police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 846.)

Christchurch. — lsabel Hankins, escaping from St. Anne’s Home, Papanui, has been located by the Christchurch police, and returned to the institution. (See Police Gazette, 1940, page 118.)

Wellington. William Mcßcynolds, discharged from Auckland Prison: In the notice of this offender’s discharge from prison published in Police Gazette, 1940, page 110, it is stated that he was “ warned that he is qualified to be declared an habitual criminal.” Such a warning was not issued, and all copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.
