Auckland. —24th March last, from the Central Private Hotel, 143 Hobson Street, the property of KEITH ROBERT McINTYRE, a gentlemen’s square silver Swiss luminous wristlet-watch, Arabic numerals, round dial, silver wristband, one link of which has been broken and replaced by plain silver link ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 13th and 16th January last, from a motor-car at the back of the Civic Theatre, the property of ROBERT PAUL HODGE, Kaimata School, Inglewood, a gentlemen’s gold open-face dress watch, glass and minute hand missing ; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Marton. —About the 24th March last, from the dwelling of CHARLES ALBERT ROFE, 15 Maunder Street, a gentlemen’s 14 ct. gold open-face 15-jewel Wyler dress watch, No. 4997, double case at back, Arabic numerals 1 to 24 on dial; a black leather wallet, fold-over type, about 6 in. by 4 in., “ C. A. Rofe ” on inside flap ; a dark-brown leather sovereign belt, 36 in. by 1/ in., embossed with Kaffir brass wire work; and a gold bar collar-pin, If in. long and f in. wide: total value, £l2 10s. Identifiable. On the 24th March last a schoolboy was discovered in the house by complainant. He has been dealt with by the Court for breaking and entering the dwelling, but he denies stealing the property described above.

Wanganui. —22nd ultimo, from the motor-car of ALEXANDER CAMPBELL SEIVEWRIGHT, Victoria Avenue, two black silver fox furs about 3 ft. in length, permanently fixed together by dome fasteners, one fur showing slight signs of wear ; value, £55. Identifiable.

Petone. —10th February last, from a bedroom in 160 Jackson Street, the property of TREVOR WILLIAM FITZMAURICE, a gentlemen’s octagonal 15-jewelled chromiumplated Nivrel wristlet-watch with stainless steel back, Arabic numerals, repair No. L. 1782 C scratched on inside back case, blue wrist-strap ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Wellington. —loth ultimo, the property of WILLIAM ROY FINLAY-SMITH, 12 Byron Street, Miramar, a -22 calibre Winchester repeating rifle, model 69 ; value, £3 ss. Identifiable. Complainant inadvertently left the rifle in the doorway of the Customs building.

Wellington. —Between the 7th April, 1934, and 21st ultimo, the property of GEORGE HENRY NEALE, Moana Road, Plimmerton, a -32 calibre Winchester repeating rifle, No. 431845; and a -22 calibre B.S.A. rifle, No. 19587 : total valued £2 10s. Identifiable. Complainant, who is slightly mentally defective, is unable to locate the rifles. They were inspected at his house on the 7th April, 1934.

Otira. —Between the Bth and 11th ultimo, from the outside wall of the electrical switch-house, Arthur’s Pass, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Meteorological Office), a standard pattern thermometer, serial No. S. 3011, about 12 in. long and 11 in. wide, made by Negretti and Zamba, London ; value, 10s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —Between 23rd and 28th December last, from a motor-cycle on the roadside at Otorohanga, the property of TAMAINU PU, two motor-cycle registrationplates, No. 6,736 ; value, 2s. On the 30th December last these plates were seen affixed to a motor-cycle which was involved in a collision in Christchurch, and which was then being driven by a man (name unknown).

Mataura.— 7th ultimo, from the dwelling of ALFRED PARKER, farmer, Waimumu, two £5 notes. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about forty-seven, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, squint in one eye ; dressed in Pama nap trousers, blue coat and vest, felt hat, and black overcoat. On the 6th ultimo, this man was engaged by complainant to work on the latter’s farm. Next day during his employer’s absence he disappeared, after which it was discovered that £lO had been stolen from the house.
