♦ Auckland. — James Mervyn Carter, deserting Navy, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 661.) Auckland. Alfred Henry Allsop, deserting Navy: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 845.) Auckland. — James McEwen, alias McEwan, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Wharf (Wellington) police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 181.)

Auckland. — John William Graves, alias Greaves, assault, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 441.)

Hamilton. — Hoti Moti, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1938, page 819) : The sentence has been reduced by the Court of Appeal to three years reformative detention. (Hn. 6487/38.)

Hamilton.— Walter Leonard Cooper, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1938, page 606) : The declaration to be an habitual criminal has been cancelled by the Court of Appeal, and the Court ordered that he be warned that he has qualified to be declared an habitual criminal. (Hn. 6913/38.)

Hamilton.— Mervyn Alexander Waiter Rowe, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Pukekohe police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 299.)

New Plymouth.— John Couiihard, alias William Jones, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Howick police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 284.)

Wanganui.— Rokena IViataki, alias Rogan Murdock, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1938, page 800) : The sentences have been reduced by the Court of Appeal to two years hard labour and disqualified him from obtaining a motordriver’s license for five years from the 31st instant.

Feilding. — Noel James Penney, alias Penny, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 232.)

Palmerston North. — Constance Mona Hallam, assaulted : Donald Glasgow Bickneil, age sixteen years, has been arrested for the offence by the Palmerston North police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 317.)

Lower Hutt. — Edward Roy Hawkey, default of maintenance, has been arrested by the Papakura police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 299.)

Wellington.— Tracy Reginald Melvil Drummond, default of maintenance, has paid the arrears to the Motueka police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 268.)

Wharf (Wellington). — Samuel Samson Tweedie, deserting ship, has been arrested by the Islington police. (See Police Gazette, 1938, page 832.)

Wharf (Wellington). — Robert Shirley, absent from ship without leave, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 299.)

Wharf (Wellington).— Stanley Bentley and Henry Wills, absent from ship without leave, have been arrested by the Mount Cook police. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 299.)

Dunedin.— Wolfenden and Russell, shop broken into : Robert Charles Howell Green, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 300, has been interviewed by the Dunedin police, and he admitted the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 233.)
