PROPERTY STOLEN.
Hamilton.— During the night of 18th ultimo, from the rear of MOTOR SPECIALTIES, LTD., Alma Street, a Sunrise electric grinding machine, about 9 in. high with handle on top, about 14 in. wide, double stones, fastens to bench with four bolts; and an electric motor with a plate screwed on it on which is the following : “ 230 volt, l h.p., 1450 R.P.M., Model S. 5036, and motor model G. 28,” contained in wooden case about 15 in. by 12 in. by 9 in., with “ Motor Specialties, Auckland ” and “ M.S. 132756 ”on it: total value, £8 15s. 6d. Identifiable.
Moturoa. “Canopus,” the property of GEORGE MACDONALD, engineer, a gentlemen’s gold hunting keyless Waltham lever watch, Roman numerals, small knife-mark on edge near winder ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Wellington. On the 11th ultimo, the dwelling of WILLIAM CHARLES CRANE, 135 Tasman Street, was broken into and the following stolen: An 18 ct. gold ring, set with three diamonds in straight claw setting; an 18 ct. gold ring, set with two rubies and three diamonds in straight claw setting ; an 18 ct. gold ring, claw set with three pearls about size of sweet-pea seed (each ring is P. or Q. size); a 15 ct. gold round pendant with star design in centre, circle set with pearls and star set with sapphires, pin and small fine gold chain attached; a pair of aquamarine earrings, drop design, with gold screw-clips for ears; a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold open-face keyless pocket watch, “ E.G.C.” on back case, Roman numerals, jewel in movement broken; an oxidized open-face keyless alarm watch, radium dial; a ladies’ blue enamel open-face keyless pocket watch, may have pearl set in centre of back case and small pearls around dial; a 22 ct. gold wedding ring and a 22 ct. gold keeper ring which are joined; a blue enamel brooch in design of bird with wings spread and red eyes; a nickel-plated fivechambered revolver, Globe Manufacturing make, “ E.L.G.” on it, with ten rounds of ammunition ; and £3 16s. in money : total value, £9O 6s. fid. Identifiable except money.
Wellington. The property of HENRY JOHN LOCKYER, 17 Sidey Street, a -22 caiibre Stevens singleshot rifle, No. V. 801 ; value, £l. Identifiable. Lockyer stated that. he last saw his rifle in March, 1936, when he was in Dunedin.
Wellington. lst ultimo, from a hall in the Mayfair Cabaret, Cuba Street, the property of FRANCIS HENRY McCREADY, photographer, 37 Willis Street, a black Leica camera, No. 267975, about Bin. by in., suitable for street photography ; value, £2O. Identifiable. 1&4&2& /I JCf
Dunedin.— 3oth September last, from the dwelling of ERNEST GEORGE HAROLD RUFFELL, 42 Filleul Street, a gentlemen’s gold hunting watch, No. 73725, Roman numerals, “ W.C.R.” in shield on front case, repair Nos. 0048 and 7939 on inside case, dent in case near hinge; and IBs. in money : total value, £8 18s. Watch only identifiable.
Dunedin. Between the 25th September last and the 6th ultimo, from a dwelling at 16 Anderson’s Bay Road, the property of RICHARD HANSEN, a small pair of black binoculars of German make, about 2 in. barrel, each lens focuses separately, “J. Hansen scratched on top; value, £lO. Identifiable.
