PROPERTY STOLEN.

Takapuna. Between the 15th April and 17th June last, a hut at Campbell Bay, the property of EFFIE KINGSTON DYER, Takapuna, was broken into and the following stolen : A table model H.M.V. gramophone ; one hundred gramophone records, including Pathe and H.M.V. recordings ; four single and four double blankets; and a Primus stove, &c. : total value, £3B 2s. Identifiable.

Auckland. On the 28th ultimo, the dwelling of HANNAH VEALE BAYLY, 16 Inverness Avenue, Epsom, was broken into and the following stolen : A plain gold band bracelet, with “ H.V.8.” or “H. V. Bayly ” inscribed on it; a gold curb chain bracelet with locket attached ; a gold chain necklet, with round pearl pendant attached ; a gold cross, about 1 in. long with either three or four stones set in it ; a gold-mounted red coral brooch, shape of a hand ; a round gold brooch, set with an amethyst, about the size of a sixpence ; a black fountain-pen, with three or four gold bands on it; and four 10s. notes : total value, £2l 10s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. 29th ultimo, from the office of the MANUK TIMBER CO., 336 Manukau Road, Epsom, a cheque on the Bank of New South Wales, Auckland, No. 325159, payable to Manukau Timber Co. and signed W. H. Osmond, for £l2 os. 7d., which had been altered from £2O os. 7d.; a cheque for £l3 Bs., on the Bank of New Zealand, Symonds Street, No. 23944, payable to J. A. Vincent and signed Burns and Nash ; and £53 10s. in money. Cheques only identifiable.

Auckland. —27th September last, the property of JAMES MacDONALD, 424 New North Road, Mount Albert, an overcoat (recovered) ; and a pair of gentlemen’s leather kid gloves: total value, £4 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to James Patrick Cusack, referred to in Police Gazette, 1934, page 603, and Photographs, page 16. Suspect left the coat with a second-hand dealer, without payment, stating that he would call for it later j/: vA IT

Auckland. —-On the 30th July last, from the person of WILLIAM GILBERT COMPTON, 5 Vincent Street, a gentlemen’s 14 ct. gold hunting Waltham watch, “ W.G.C.” in large letters engraved on front of case ; value, £ls. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Alfred Jackson, age about forty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., showman and shoddygoods traveller, medium build, dark-olive complexion, brown hair turning grey, much gold showing in teeth ; usually wears a brown suit and felt hat. Complainant was drinking in the Albion Hotel with four showmen Alfred Jackson, William Preston, James Cooper, and Terence O’Shea (the latter is referred to in Police Gazette, 1930, page 442) —and they have all been interviewed except Jackson, who, when located, is to be interviewed regarding the offence.

Mount Eden.— On the 4th September last, a store-room, the property of EDGAR CHARLES PEARCE, corner of Khyber Pass and Park Roads, was broken into and the following stolen : Two Ford generators; two second-hand tires, 30 x 3-| ; and a 6-8 volt Exide battery in wooden case, 16 in. by 2J in. by 9 in. : total value, £2O. Battery only identifiable.

Whangamomona. —Between the 29th January, 1921, and 29th ultimo, the property of SIDNEY ERNEST SMITH, Hope, Nelson, a -22 calibre single-shot Winchester rifle, 1902 model ; a -303 calibre Lee Enfield rifle, No. 1489/614 ; and a •303 calibre Lee Enfield rifle, No. 03/18635 : total value, £B. Identifiable.

Manaia. —About the Ist August last, from the dwelling of HORACE VENTEN, a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold watch-chain, oval links with bar through each link ; value, £2. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Raymond Bedingfield, referred to in Police Gazette, 1932, page 185. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Manunui. — On the 15th September last, the dwelling of HERMAN REICK was broken into and the following stolen : A brown leather bag, about 9 in. long by 6 in. deep, containing about £4 in money (“ H.” may be stamped on bag) ; a glass jar, containing 7s. 6d. in pennies ; and a Hamilton Postoffice Savings-bank book, No. 51270, showing a credit balance of £B. Bag and bank-book identifiable.

Hastings. —Between April last and 25th June, the property of MAURICE BOSHIER, Russell Street, a No. six-20 Kodak camera, No. 4327 ; value, £4.

Wanganui. Between the 28th June, 1921, and 6th instant, from the Rapanui School, the property of the RAPANUI SCHOOL COMMITTEE, two -310 calibre single-shot Westley Richards rifles, Nos. 4743 and 4666 respectively: ■ total value, £2. Identifiable.

Wanganui. the 7th May, 1929, and 6th instant, the property of ARTHUR HELLYER COLLINS, farmer, Mangaahu, an M. Lee-Enfield rifle, No. . 5316, body and) barrel, No. P.B. 8887 ; and an L.M. Lee-Enfield rifle, butt No. 4842, body and barrel No. P.B. 5998 : total value, £4. Identifiable. ‘ ~ ar ~

Waipukurau. —Between the 16th and 20th September last, from a paddock, the property of FRANCIS EDWARD McROBERTS, farmer, Hatuma, four aged Romney crossbred ewes, earmarked with “S ” on left ear ; and a lamb : total value, £5. Ewes identifiable.

Christchurch. loth ultimo, from a motor-car in Cashel Street, the property of ELIZABETH BOYD, North Brook Road, Rangiora, a ladies’ light-brown Marmot fur coat, full length, two outside pockets, one inside pocket, collar and edges of pockets slightly worn, black braid buttons, double cuffs, lined with purple and brown brocade; value £35. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, dark complexion, brown hair; slight scar about 3 in. long on left side of face ; wearing a light-grey coat with small black check, dark trousers, fawn felt hat, and brown shoes. Suspect endeavoured to borrow £2 from a second-hand dealer on a coat similar to the one stolen.

Murchison. During May last, from a tent at Lyell, the property of NOELINE DOROTHY FULFORD, Foxhill, Nelson, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with five diamonds in claw setting ; a gold wedding ring ; and gold, value £1 10s., in aspro and scent bottles : total value, £l4. Rings identifiable.

Duntroon.— April and Ist August last, from the dwelling of KATE STELLA STAVELY CARRODUS, Tokarahi, a ladies’ gold engagement ring, set with a cluster of seven diamonds, the largest diamond being in the centre value, £l2. Identifiable.
