On or about the 25th December last, that a summons may be served upon him for receiving two sheets, a bed-spread, and a towel, the property of the New Zealand Shipping Co., knowing them to have been stolen, Horace Randall Bishop, alias Thomas Pawson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1929, page 697, and Photographs, 1924, page 21. When interviewed by the police he handed over the property, stating that it was given to him by a seaman named “ Arthur.”

Whilst Bavister was in the hospital Courtney, who had also been staying in the hut, informed him that it had been broken into and the property stolen. He stole the watch from a service motor-car, and gave it to William Frederick Elliot, Glenorchy, as security for the latter’s horse, which accused said he would return in a few days, but has failed so to do.
