Darroch, who has acted as coach and examiner in the literary subjects for the annual police examinations, is published for the information of members of the force concerned. W. G. Dear Sir, — I would advise the men of the Police Force in New Zealand who contemplate sitting for examination in the literary subjects this year to obtain without delay and study the following books : Sergeants’ Examination : Arithmetic, Standard V, New Progressive, Is. 3d. ; Answer Book, Is. 3d. ; Progressive English Course, 25.; Junior Geography of New Zealand and Australia (Shrimpton and Hight), 2s. 6d.; Human Geography, Standard VI, 2s. ; N.Z.
