PERSONS WANTED.

Kaikohe. 26th September last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £l7 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Florence Althea Redfern is the mother, Hingaia Tutu, alias Stirgaree, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, Maori, medium build, copper complexion, brown hair and eyes, scar on back of right hand and at base of left thumb, right little-finger nail deformed. Henderson. 24th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £l2 10s. (including a sovereign and five half-sovereigns), the property of Karl Schenker, farmer, Oratia, Percy James Symons, alias Brown, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 10 in., farm hand and seaman, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, thin face ; dressed in a blue serge suit, grey felt hat, wears braces with “Champion Flour ” on them ; slovenly gait; fond of drink. Accused disappeared from his employment with complainant, and the offence was subsequently discovered. (See Police Gazette, 1928, page 701.) y3/

Auckland. —16th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £SB arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife in England, John Bailey Foster, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair going bald, blue eyes ; angel, clasped hands, heart, and “I love Elsie.” on right forearm; Union Jack and “ Agnes ” on left forearm. Hamilton. 27th ultimo, that a summons for failing to notify his change of address may be served upon him (Defence Act), Harold Leon Trask, age about twenty -two, height 6 ft., labourer, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, dark eyes ; usually dressed in grey trousers, blue serge coat, and tan shoes, and wears glasses ; stutters slightly.

New Plymouth. — Henry Walter Frank, failing to maintain : It has been ascertained by the Otorohanga and Putaruru police that he was employed at Arapuni until the 25th July last. He has assumed the name IVHck Burke. (See Police Gazette, 1928, page 164.) Csg/tSUla.tfEgt

Spit. —l7th ultimo, on warrant for assault, Edward Benjamin Thorne, age about thirty-four, height 5 ft. 10 in., gardener, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair going bald, hazel eyes ; dressed in a navyblue suit, brown felt hat, and brown boots ; limps on right leg. Whilst Winifred Withington, age six years and a half, was playing on the beach at Port Ahuriri accused purchased ice-creams for her, took her on his knees, and assaulted her.

Napier. —3rd October last, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 15s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, Waller Connor, age fifty, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, . brown hair, grey eves : clasped hands and woman on moon on left forearm. peuk- 'GJsfea'

Raetiht. l6th October last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Edith Mary Perfect, and three children, George John Perfect, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 10/in., bushman and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, curly brown hair turning grey, blue eyes, broad shoulders, clean-shaved ; dressed in a light-grey suit and light-grey felt hat.

Wanganui.- 19th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Prison for three weeks in default of paying £l2 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, James David Hair, age twenty-one, height 6 ft. 1 in., drover and farm labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, black hair, brown eyes, scar on right wrist and on each middle finger, quiet manner ; usually well dressed. Wellington. —On or about the 16th October last, on warrant for forgery, H. Stevenson (name probably fictitious), age about thirty -five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair ; dressed in a navy-blue suit, grey Stetson hat, and chocolate-coloured overcoat, which may have a burn-mark near one lapel. Accused obtained a blank cheque from Gladys McHalick, 108 Willis Street, drew it for £B, forged the signature J. L. Christchurch. —23rd October last, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Edwin fi/lartyn Smith, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 9 in., ’canvasser, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, fair hair, -blue eyes, scar on right calf. His arrest is desired. On the 26th May last he was charged witlutheft and /encased on probation.

Christchurch. 26th September last, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Richard Albeit Green, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 7/ in., labourer and showman, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, dark -brown hair, blue eyes, scar on left cheek ; plausible manner. She may associate with members of the crew of H.M.S. “ Dunedin.”

Dunedin.23rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 11s. costs for helpless drunkenness, Anthony Shannon, alias Sharman, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 7/ in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, broken nose, scar over right eye, near left eye, on upper lip, and on left palm. Dunedin.l2th October last, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for two days in default of paying £1 18s. fine and costs for refusing to quit licensed premises, Phillip Gordo* Sutherland, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 8£ in., teamster, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, grey eyes ; usually dressed in light-grey trousers, blue coat, and grey cap. Invercargill.27th October last, on warrant for unlawfully converting to his own use a motor-car (recovered), the property of Albert George Butt, Boggy Burn, Stuart O’Neill (name probably fictitious), age about twenty, height about. 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, pale freckled complexion, auburn hair; dressed in a navy-blue suit. The motor-car was removed from Don Street and found abandoned at Mataura. He is also suspected of stealing a motor-cycle (recovered), the property of McQuillan, Gore, which he sold in Christchurch, where he gave his name as Lewis Mather.
