Accused obtained £225 for the lease of a billiard-saloon from James Cameron, Egmont Street, by falsely representing that he possessed a 4-|-years lease of the saloon and that he had authority to sell. Williams (name probably fictitious), age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 11 in., dark complexion and hair, clean-shaved ; dressed in light flannel trousers, grey light felt hat, and dark-brown overcoat. Accused obtained a lumber jacket, a scarf, a pair of light-grey flannel trousers with “Cox and Co.” on buttons, two pairs of socks, a tie, a belt, and two collars, total value £7 11s., from Cox and Co., clothiers, Hastings Street, by falsely representing that he was L. Williams, of Ensleigh, Havelock North. He may be identical with K. James, referred to in Police Gazette, 1928, page 506. No warrant.

Hastings.— Edward Weeks, idle and disorderly : It has been ascertained by the Wellington police that he may be identical with Leo Drury, referred to in Police Gazette, 1927, page 347. Johnsonville. Albert Lambert, escaping from mental hospital: It has been ascertained by the Kaponga police that he assumed the name Alexander King, and was working on a farm at Kaponga until the 25th ultimo. Wolfenden and Russell, drapers, South Dunedin, by falsely representing that her employer, Mrs. Shiel, had sent her for the articles. If arrested, she is to be placed in the custody of a Jemale Child Welfare Officer at Dunedin.
