* — S Unidentified Body. Lyttelton. —On the 7th instant the dead body of a Man (identity unknown) was found in Lyttelton Harbour. Descrip- , tion : Age about forty-eight, height about 5 ft. 9 in., strong build, fresh complexion, dark hair, full round face, cleanshaved, artificial upper teeth (one missing), decayed lower teeth ; dressed in brown check trousers, striped dark-brown tweed coat and vest (spots of green and white paint on coat), Police braces, two striped soft cotton shirts with crossed flags, “ Trade Mark, Standard, size 16,” on one and “ Favourite, size 5,” on the other, a grey woollen singlet marked j “ Yelva Finish, Canterbury, Unshrinkable,” soft collar with black stripes, dark-brown knitted tie with red and blue '

cross stripes, brown shoes blacked over (size 9) with square rubber heels and recently half-soled, dark-grey socks, and fawn gabardine overcoat with “ Established 1863 a.d. Manufactured expressly for Kirkcaldie and Stains, Wellington, N.Z. Made in England,” on tag. The following articles were found in the clothing : A Flag razor with grey bone handle, a broken nail-file, five keys, a broken pen-holder, an indelible pencil, and two safety pins. Any information regarding the identity of deceased is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Christchurch.
