INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Sydney (New South Wales). Between the 11th and 13th instant the shop of PHILLIP ROSEN, ladies’ outfitter, 346 Oxford Street, Waverley, was entered, and the following property stolen therefrom : Thirty-five rolls of Assam silk, each roll contains thirty yards ; five lengths of pink, white, and green voile, each length contains about forty yards ; ninety ladies’ silk, crepe de Chine, satin, gabardine, taffeta, linen, and flannel dresses of various colours, sizes, and styles ; about thirty gabardine, woollen, serge, and taffeta skirts of various colours, sizes, and styles ; fourteen ladies’ silk jumpers of various colours and sizes ; about twenty-five ladies’ Assamsilk dust-coats, some plain and some trimmed with black braid; thirty-six ladies’ gabardine raincoats of various colours ; three tan imitation-leather suit-cases, about 3 ft. by 2 ft., one with odd locks, and one repaired at bottom with black leather, and has “ C. Richmond ” in gold letters on top : total value, £SOO. Mostly identifiable. If any of the property is traced, or if any information is obtained regarding the offence, a communication is to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, 'Wellington. (P. 23/1115.)
Sydney. Between the 18th and 20th instant a quantity of coloured fugi and French silks, (“ C. J. Bonnett” and “No. 5112” on portion of it), value £1,500, identifiable, was stolen from the warehouse of TALLERMAN AND CO. (LIMITED). The material may be contained in four cases, 3 ft. by 2 ft. by 1 ft. 6 in. each, probably branded “ T.M. & Co.” in square, or “ T and Co.” without square, and “ Made in Japan; Keep Dry.” Any information regarding the offence is to be communicated to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington./ (P.,23/1114.) / . w W^77 z '
