Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 2nd instant, on warrant for being absent from the barquentine “ Wanganui ” without leave, Arne Hanson, age about twenty-three, height 6 ft., seaman, native of Norway, slight build, fair complexion, fair curly hair, blue eyes, small fair moustache : slightly pigeon-chested. Auckland. Chaffey, failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child: It has been ascertained by the Auckland police that offender left Auckland by the s.s. “ Niagara ” for Sydney on the 9th December last. (See Police Gazette, 1921, page 105.)

Auckland.- -17th ultimo, for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), the property of James Letcher, Customs clerk, Charles Warnock (name probably fictitious), age about seventeen, height about 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, fair hair and complexion ; well dressed in a dark suit and grey soft-felt hat. The bicycle was stolen from outside the tepid baths, and accused endeavoured to sell it to Moss Robinson, pawnbroker, in Victoria Street, for £lO.

Auckland. —3lst ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Alfred Henry Livingston, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in., engineer, native of Tasmania, stout build, dark' hair and complexion, brown eyes, clean-shaved ; swinging gait. Complainant, Edith Frances May Crowhurst.

Auckland.7th instant, for indecent exposure and assault causing actual bodily harm, Man (name unknown), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, long dark hair, several days’ growth of beard; foreign accent. Accused, who is believed to be mentally deranged, was dressed in a brown ragged overcoat only and a pair of boots. About midday on the above date, in Gillies Avenue, he accosted a schoolgirl, Alice Bell Herdson, of 2 Clyde Street. He opened his overcoat and exposed himself, caught the girl by the hand and then threw a corrosive substance (believed caustic soda) over her face, neck, and arms. No warrant.
