Bank Bobbery.
Murchison. —On 22nd instant, from the Bank of New Zealand, the sum of £2,065 55., made up as follows: Eighteen 10s. notes; 574 £1 notes, numbered CI2OOOI to 0120500; 97 £5 notes 47 £lO notes; 10 £2O notes; 5 £SO notes; £3B composed of £5 notes, £1 notes, and 10s. notes; £5 10s. in gold; and £33 15s. in silver. The notes were Bank of New Zealand notes, and the numbers of only the £1 notes are known. All banks should be notified. _ « >7/ Arsernr. /
Wiiangarei. About 2 a.m. on the 12th instant an attempt was made to burn down a cookhouse and dining-room at Waikiekie, the property of the New Zealand Government (Public Works Department), a quantity of cotton-waste saturated with benzine was placed under the floor and ignited. The fire was discovered and extinguished before it got hold on the building, which was - damaged to the extent of about £5. Any information regarding this offence is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Auckland.
