Newton. — loth January last, from STONE AND CO.’S shop in Karangahape Road, a pair of ladies’ court shoes, size 3, “ Bostock and Lurie ” stamped inside on soles, Louie heel; value, £2 2s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Woman (name unknown), age about twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 5 in., medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair, full round face, small straight nose ; dressed in a lightcoloured dress and white straw hat with narrow red band.

Devonport. l4th ultimo, from the ladies’ bathing-shed on the beach, the property of VIRGINA MARY PENROSE PROBERT, 3 Abbotsford Terrace, a grey skirt, a silk blouse with a dark stripe, a camisole, and a gold two-bar brooch, one end of each bar broken, set with a large orange stone in centre ; total value, £3. Identifiable.

Auckland.— Bth instant, from a hut at the junction of Mountain and Khyber Pass Roads, the property of DAVID CREECH, labourer, a gentlemen’s silver open-face keyless watch, No. 570835 Benson, London, maker; value, £2. Identifiable.

Mercer. Between the 28th September and the sth October last, from a launch on the Waikato River, the property of JOHN MUREHIE, hotelkeeper, a two-cycle Bosch magneto, number supposed to be 883773, three nicks filed in bottom ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Paeroa.— Between the 17th and the 19th instant, from a bedroom in the Paeroa Hotel, the property of ANN MARGARET DOBBS, a pair of binoculars, “ The Ulster, Riddell, Belfast,” in silver letters on them; value, £25. Identifiable.

Rotorua. 2nd instant, from the dwelling of John Findlay, lapidary, Koutu, eleven pairs of ladies’ and girls’ black button and black lace-up boots, and three pairs of ladies’ and girls’ tan shoes, value £l2, the property of EGBERT LYON; five white blankets, two dark heavy blankets, a heavy dark woollen shawl, a black heavy fur coat with sealskin collar, value £l6, identifiable, the property of HINGA TAWHIO ; and a pair of dark-brown-tweed trousers, a pair of socks, and a Winchester repeating - rifle, value £2 75., identifiable, the property of JOHN FINDLAY.

Rotorua.— During the night of the 19th ultimo the ticketoffice of the railway-station was broken into, and about £2, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Railway Department) stolen therefrom.

Rotorua.— During the night of the 17th instant the office of THORNTON, WALKER, AND CO., land and commission agents, was broken into, and the following money stolen therefrom : About £27, consisting of £1 notes, two sovereigns, and silver; and a cheque for £3 12s. 6d. on the Bank of Australasia, Napier, drawn by Frank O’Connell, in favour of Thornton, Walker, and Co. Te Kuiti.— On or about the 14th ultimo, from a bedroom, the property of ARTHUR MANGHAM, carter, Piopio, a cheque for £9 on the Bank of New Zealand, Te Kuiti, drawn by J. Wall, payable to T. Hind ; and £l6 in £1 notes. Cheque only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Charles William Burton, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 11 in., taxi-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, light-brown hair, hazel eyes. Raurimu. —Between the 14th and 23rd ultimo, from a blacksmith’s shop, the property of KNIGHT, sawmillproprietor, a Duplex stock and die, No. 316, “ Manufactured by Hart and Co., Cleveland, U.5.A.,” on it; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Normanby.-— During the night of the 15th instant the railway office was broken into, and a kit-bag (since recovered) stolen therefrom. An attempt had also been made to blow open by means of explosives a safe in the same office, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Railway Department).

Stratford —During the night of the 22nd instant the office of the FARMERS’ CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY was broken into, and a Bank of New South Wales £5 note and £4 in silver stolen therefrom.

Hawera.— During the night of the 15th instant PURSER BROS.’ hairdressers’ shop in High Street was broken into, and the following articles and money stolen therefrom : An electric torch, two Gillette safety razors, two Loewe pipes, three bottles of Brilliantine, and about 17s. in silver and coppers ; total value, £5 4s. Identification doubtful.

Hawera. —Between the 13th and 15th instant the shop of PURSER AND SONS, furniture-dealers, High Street, was broken into, and a tin cash-box containing letters stolen therefrom.

Hastings. 2oth instant, from a coat in a dressing-shed at the Nelson Cricket-grounds, the property of JOHN ASCOT MOGART STEVENS, motor mechanic, Ongaonga, a gentlemen’s double-case watch, silver in centre and gold round edge, enamel-work round figures, 10 Rubie ” engraved on inside of back case ; and three £1 notes and a sovereign: total value, £l9. Watch only identifiable.

Waipukurau. —l3th instant, from a handbag in a railwaycarriage, the property of GILBERT McKAY, farmer, Otane, a pair of small folding binoculars with blaok-leather covering, cross scratched on metal to mark correct foous ; value, £ls 15s. Identifiable. 1

Dannevirke. —l6th instant, from a bedroom at Andrews’s Hotel, the property of ALBERT WILLIAM WHITE Government Auditor, a gentlemen’s fawn gabardine three-quarter overcoat, “Nicholson, London,” inside of collar, mended on right cuff and at top of slit at back, two small patches near right pocket, button-hole in each pocket; value, £5. Identifiable.

Dannevirke. —l9th instant, from Drinkwater’s Diningrooms, the property of MADS CHRISTIAN JANSEN, farmer, Matamau, a gentlemen’s fine-canvas overcoat with black mark in centre of back and grease-mark on left shoulder, patent spring fastenings on inside, leather and buckle fastening on outside, inside of collar lined with brown velvet; and a pair of woollen gloves: value, £3. Identifiable.

Feilding. —On or about the 11th instant, from a truck at Taonui Siding, the property of W. J. SMITH, farmer, Colyton. twenty-eight cases of Shell benzine; value, £42. Not identifiable.

Feilding. —On or about the 9th instant, from a bedroom in the Grosvenor Hotel, the property of JOSEPH D'ARCY, labourer, a gentlemen’s light-fawn overcoat, about size 6, check lining, raised seams on shoulders. Suspicion is attached to Charles James Leggatt, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, thin build, fair hair and compb xion, blue eyes, scars on left side of face.

Feilding. —l7ih ultimo, from a telephone-box at the taxi-stand, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Post and Telegraph Department), a Western Electric 8.8, telephone, may be branded “ J. K. Logan, N. 2, P.T.” ; value, £4 10s. Not identifiable.

Feilding. —On or about the 19th instant LEVIN AND CO.S benzine-store was broken into, and thirty cases of Shell benzine, value £4O, stolen therefrom.

Petone.— Between the 2nd and 27th ultimo, from a bedroom at 7 Britannia Street, the property of ELSIE ROWENA BARBER, a diamond earring, claw -set, straight shank, nob at end which can be screwed off; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold half-hoop ring, set with a large emerald in centre and three diamonds on each side in claw setting ; a ladies’ gold halfhoop ring, supposed 18 ct., set alternately with three diamonds and two rubies in gipsy setting: total value, £3B. Identifiable.
