SPECIAL INQUIRY.

Waimate. About 3.80 p.m. on the 27th ultimo the dead body of a newly-born female child was found on the railway-line about half a mile north of Studholme Junction. The body is believed to have been dropped from the Dunedin-Christchurch express, which passes Studholme at 1 p.m. Inquires are to be made with a view to tracing the parents of the child and the person who disposed of the body in the manner stated.
