SPECIAL NOTICE.
Auckland. —Special inquiries are to be made with a view to the arrest of the following persons who were prisoners of war, and escaped from Motuihi Island on the night of the 13th instant: (1.) Felix Luckner (Count), age thirtyfour, height 5 ft. 10in., clean-shaved, vertical scar on right side of stomach, broken thigh ; dressed in blue uniform and khaki cap, with dark band, wearing a German naval badge ; speaks broken English; walks stiffly. (2.) Carl Theodore Frederick Kercejiess, age thirty, height 5 ft. 7in., ship’s officer; soar on right wrist; dressed in a sailor’s uniform; speaks good English. (3.) Albrecht Yon Egidy, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in., clerk, beard and moustache ; dressed in plain clothes ; slightly stooped. (4.) Karl Grunn,' age thirty-four, height 6 ft., wireless operator, clean-shaved, dark complexion, slight build; looks like a half-caste. (5.) Otto Freund, age thirty-one, height 5 ft, 5 in., wireless engineer, stout build, olean-shaved,
blue eyes ; dressed in plain clothes ; can hardly understand English. (6.) Walter Yon Zatorski, age twenty-three, height 6 ft., naval cadet, blue eyes; dressed in naval cadet uniform. (7.) Walter Schmidt, age twenty-three, height sft. 10in., naval cadet, black hair, brown eyes; dressed in naval cadet uniform. (8.) Fritz Mellert, age twentythree, height 5 ft. Bin., naval cadet, brown hair, blue eyes, strong build, clean-shaved ; dressed in naval cadet uniform. (9.) Albert Paulsen, age twentv-four, light-brown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved ; dressed in naval cadet uniform; speaks good English ; would pass for an Englishman. (10.) Ernest Klhon, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 10 in., naval cadet, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, clean-shaved ; dressed in naval cadet uniform ; speaks bad English. (11.) Hermann Erdmann, age thirty, height 5 ft. Bin., naval seaman, fair complexion, light-brown hair, brown eyes; dressed in sailor’s uniform; speaks good English.
