Whangarei. —l7tb May last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, William Ritchie, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., fireman, native of Australia.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland).— sth April, 1916, on military warrant for deserting from the 15th Reinforcement, Owen Lynch, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 8 in., seaman, native of England, medium build, dark-brown hair, brown eyes. Next-of-kin, Margaret Lynch (wife), Liverpool, England, and James Mort (friend), 10 Bow Lane, Dunedin.

Auckland.— l7th May last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Charley Johnson, ago twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and fireman, good build, fair hair and oomplexion, prominent nose.

Ohakune. —7th instant, on military warrant for deserting from the 30th Reinforcement, Peter Henry Stearne, alias Tommy Atkins, age about thirty-two, height 6ft. Jin., bushman, strong build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, right little toe has been injured, holds his head slightly to one side ; usually dressed in a dark suit.

Raurimu.— 7th instant, on military warrant for deserting from 31st Reinforcement, Walter Poulton, age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 3 in., cook and labourer, native of England, medium build, brown hair, grey eyes, fair moustache, fiat feet; usually dressed in a brown suit, and felt or straw hat.

Taihapk. -—sth March last, on military warrant for deserting from the 26th Reinforcement, Alfred Martin Chaney, height 5 ft. 74 in., labourer, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes; coat-of-arms on right forearm, peacock and Indian’s head on left forearm, dagger on right leg, leg and hand on left leg.

Taihape. —l3th November, 1916, on military warrant for deserting from the 23rd Reinforcement, William George Marslen, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 1J in., cook, fair complexion, curly light-brown hair, hazel eyes. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 602.)

Masterton. —l7th May last, on military warrant for lading to parade for medioal examination, Stanley August, age twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, auburn hair, blue eyes.

Featherston.—2nd August last, on military warrant for deserting from Featherston Camp, Richard Patrick Hanrahan, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 9 in., cabinetmaker, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 602.)

Mount Cook. —7th instant, on military warrant for escaping from military detention, Samuel Rosenbeck, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and soldier, native of Denmark or Germany, medium build, ruddy complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, small fair moustache, Roman nose (slightly twisted), left middle finger missing ; dressed in drab-coloured denims; moves his head when conversing. Next-of-kin, Mrs. Neil Rosenbeck, Piripiri, Dannevirke. He is identical with S. Rosenbeck, referred to in Police Gazette, 1917, page 656.

Westport.-— sth April last, on military warrant for deserting from Trentham Camp, Charles Alexander Daniel Thomas, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, curly brown hair, brown eyes.
