PROPERTY STOLEN.

Helensville.— -On or about the 10th November last, from THOMAS ELLIOTT’S farm, four Holstein heifers, age about twenty months (one believed to have red patches on it), branded with a 3 in.-square on left rump, and earmarked with a V-shaped piece out of front of left ear, and a V-shaped piece out of back of right ear ; total value, £22. Identifiable.

Auckland.—On or about the 29th ultimo OLIVE JENKINS’S shop at 110 Victoria Street was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom: About 41b. of plug and tin Havelock tobacco, about six packets of yellow and about four packets of green Three Castles cigarettes, and four packets of cigarette-tobacco; total value, about £2 10s. Not identifiable.

Auckland. Between November, 1915, and December last, from a farm at Horsham Downs, the property of LICHENSTEIN AND ARNOLDSON, Custom Street, Auckland, about three hundred and fifty ewes and hoggetts, ewes earmarked with an L-shaped piece out of bottom of left ear, hoggetts with an L-shaped piece out of bottom of right ear (believed to be branded with an PI on rump), and about a hundred lambs, ewes earmarked with a half-circle-shaped piece out of top of right ear, wethers with a half-circle-shaped piece out of top of left ear ; some may be earmarked similar to the above-described ewes and hoggetts : total value, £SOO. Identifiable.

Mercer. —On or about the 13th ultimo, the property of CHARLES HULT, a 25-calibre Merlin rifle, trombone action, “88 ” btamped on left side of stock; a single barrel automatic Browning shot gun (in a leather cover, branded C.H.), 16-bore, magazine for five cartridges, “ 88’’ stamped on left side of stook; a hundred No. 5 Hazard’s Pueasant cartridges ; and about fifty cartridges for Merlin rifle : total value, £l7. Identifiable except cartridges.

Hamilton.—lßth ultimo, from outside Whitiora Bowlinggreen, the property of HAMILTON GORDON LOVBRIDGE, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Hauraki bicycle, No. 869, 21 in. frame with “ Brown, Thames,” on it, rims painted aluminium colour, rat-trap pedals, springs of saddle fastened with copper wire, tool-bag fastened to crossbar ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Napier. —6th ultimo, from Dickens Street, the property of FREDERICK GILBERT, a gentlemen’s B.S.A. bicycle, No. 5149, 24 m. frame, straight handles, steel pedals and mud-guards, Palmer tyres ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Inglewood. 27th ultimo, from Mahoe Street, the property of BERT ERI BENNETT, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled Raleigh bicycle, No. 383977, straight, handles, steel mud-guards (new one on back wheel), new tire on back wheel; value, £4. Identifiable.

Taranaki Street (Wellington).— On or about the 25th December last, from a yard at 145 a Willis Street, the property of WILLIAM MYALL, a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond which has a flaw at back ; value, £23 2s. Identifiable.

Greymouth. —lßth ultimo, the property of PATRICK DONNELLAN, Nelson Creek, a gentlemen’s silver Peerless chronograph hunting stop-watch, No. 2910, with “ T. Oxenham, N.Z. Exhibition, 06.9.07,” on inside case ; value, £l4. Identifiable.

Christchurch.— On or about the 28th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Phcenix Hotel, Papanui, the property of ANDREW FAIRBAIRN, a 9cc. gold rope-pattern neckchain ; a gold pendant, set with five aquamarines and four sprays consisting of twenty pearls ; a 9 ot. gold plain bangle, with “Doris” inscribed on it; a silver-mounted kea-beak brooch ; and a small matrix stone with a gold bar in centre : total value, £8 10s. Identifiable.

Ghristchurch. 29th ultimo, from a right-of-way in Cashel Street, the property of MRS. FRANCES HENDER SON, 28 Tonbridge Street, Merivale, a ladies’ black-enamelled free-wheel Carbine bicycle, rusty rims, rim-brakes, gear-case and lacing broken ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —2oth ultimo, from the Grand Theatre, the property of EDMOND LIMBRICK, 116 Slater Street, Richmond, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Townsend bicycle, No. 21367, upturned handles, rim-brakes; value, £5. Identifiable.

Lyttelton.— JOHN GRIGGS’S field-glasses stolen : The following further description has been supplied by the Lyttelton police : A pair of new Negrefcti and Zambrae fieldglasses in a brown-leather case with shoulder-strap, “ E. Toi, Favouri Depose,” on case, and “Marque Iris de Paris” on telescope. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 60.)

Ashburton. —On or about the Ist ultimo, from West Street, the property of GILBERT NOEL SIMPSON, 50 Grey Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel New Hudson bicycle, straight handles (grips missing), steel rims and pedals, brake broken, “ G. N. Simpson ” on saddle, Dunlop tires ; value, £3. Identifiable.
