SPECIAL INQUIRY.
Dunedin. —Special inquiry is requested with a view to the identification of a Man (correct name unknown) who died at Dunedin on 17th ultimo. Description : Age between fifty and sixty, height 5 ft. sJin., supposed native of Derby, England, slight build, pale consumptive appearance, dark hair turning grey (bald), short clipped sandy beard and moustache turning grey, heavy drooping eyebrows, grey eyes, rather large nose, fairly good teeth, no marks on body ; generally wore a black peaked cap, slate-coloured coat and vest (no collar or tie), dark-tweed trousers, and blucher boots. He was known as “ Jackson,” but his correct name and surname is required. It is supposed he was formerly organist at St. Paul’s Church, Derby, England, and that he came to this Dominion about two years ago. A portrait of deceased, taken after death, is filed in the Commissioner’s Office, Wellington. (F.P. 302/11.)
