Melbourne.- Michael Brennan, alias James Coghlan, is inquired for by the Melbourne C.I. police. Description : Forty-two or forty-three years of age, sft. 9injyor lOin. high, 11A to 12J stone weight, light-brown hair, grey eyep, sallow complexion, smart, active, and hardy looking. Informatjoh iman’s whereabouts is requested to ascertain if he was connected with the murder of Bernard Bauer, the^a^mOTm-merchant, in Collins Street, Melbourne, on the 7th June, 1907. This man is a daring and desperate criminal, arid is wanted on a charge of having housebreaking implements in his possession. (See Police Gazette, 1902, page 308.) (0./7879.) Sydney. —lnquiry requested for Frank Bolton, that he may be compelled to provide for the maintenance of his wife and children. Description: Age thirty-three, height sft. 10£in., stout build, fat face, small mouth, red lips, darkbrown hair, dark complexion, may have a small moustache, or may be clean-shaved, very irregular teeth much discoloured through chewing tobacco, small white scar over left eye-
1 brow, scar about 1 in. long on left cheek, scar on right side of throat, is left-handed, and first and second joints of index finger of left hand are stiff, speaks with a broad Lancashire accent, and may be found working in mines or in ironworks, as he is an engineer or an engineer’s fitter. Sydney.—Stolen on the "night of the 20th ultimo, from a pair of trousers hanging in a room in McDonald’s Coffee Palace, Pitt Street, Sydney, the property of Hans Laabs, residing there, a £IOO note on the National Bank of Australasia, Melbourne, No. 001241; a £1 note ; and 6s. in silver. Identifiable. (08/781.)
South Australia.—lnquiry requested for William Roy O’Halloran, who is said to have left Sydney on the sth February last for New Zealand. He is described as about 5 ft. 8 in. high, dark hair and moustache, grey eyes, dressed in navy-blue serge suit, tan boots, and grey-felt hat with black band. He had a friend named H. Smith at Waikino, Upper Thames, but no traoe of him can be obtained there. Inquiry by his wife, who is destitute. (08/478.)
