Acting-Detective A. A. Mitchell, No. 968, Dunedin police, has been awarded £8 for the arrest of Percy Walter John Weeks, a deserter from H.M.S. “ Prometheus.” (07/38.) Sergeant T. Griffith, No. 433, Oamaru police, has been awarded £5 by the Customs Department for services in connection with the conviction of Charlie Chow, Hop Lee, Ah Hong, Sing Quong, and Hong Goon for offences under the Opium Acts. (07/38.) Constable J. Maher, No. 857, Taumarunui police, has been awarded £4 for services in connection with the conviction of J. J. Lowry and George Hennessey for keeping liquor for sale in a prohibition district. (07/2058.) Constable J. A. Mathew, No. 831, Te Kuiti police, has been awarded £1 for services in connection with the conviction of John Connor for sending liquor into a no-license district without being labelled. (07/2196.) Constable J. Bagrie, No. 965, has been awarded £8 for arresting Mark Cornelius Hurndell, a deserter from H.M.S. “Pioneer.” (07/38.)
