Albert Edward F. Whiting, age twenty, height 5 ft. 3gin., stoker, Ist class, native of England, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, three dots, “ A,” and cross on left arm, star on left shoulder-blade, anchor and heart on back of right wrist. Deserted 26th July, 1907. A reward of £3 will be paid for his apprehension. (See Police Gazette, 1907, page 331, where offender’s height was incorrectly given as 5 ft. 7§ in.)

From H.M.S. “ Encounter ,” at Auckland ,

Duncan J. N. Fisher, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 5 in., stoker, Ist class, native of South Australia, fresh complexion, auburn hair, blue eyes, brown patch on right leg. Deserted on 2nd August, 1907. A reward of £3 will be paid for his apprehension.

William Gabriel Gillard, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in,, A. 8., native of Wales, light-brown hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion, wart on back of neck, tattoo-marks on left wrist and hand. Deserted 13th August, 1907. William Charles Wilson, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 6 in., seaman, native of Montreal, Canada, brown hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion, scar on right eyelid, scar above nose and on left knee. Deserted 15th August, 1907. A reward not exceeding £3 will be paid for the apprehension of each.
