MISSING.
Papakura. —Since 30th May last, Ernest Wagner, age fifty-six, height about 5 ft. 9 in., native of Germany, farmer and labourer, square heavy build, blue eyes, fair complexion, light-reddish whiskers and moustache; dressed in greytweed suit and cap, speaks with slight German accent. He wrote from Auckland on above date saying he was going up country to look for work. He had a farm at Ararimu for many years, but as he got into financial difficulties, and left his family, fears are entertained for his safety.
Taupo. —Since 20th ultimo, James Maher, age fortyeight, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, native ot New Zealand, fair ruddy complexion, fair hair, whiskers, and moustache. He was employed by the Government Roads Department on the Ateamuri Section, about forty miles from Rotorua. His clothes, with the exception of a pair of drawers and a flannel, were found in his tent, and fears are entertained that he has been drowned in the Waikato River.
