INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
*:*oo*o*>~ Murwillumbah (New South Wales). —A commitment warrant has been issued by the Murwillumbah Bench against David Powell for failing to comply with an order of the Court for payment of £ll 15s. for support of his illegitimate child. He is about nineteen years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in. high, medium build, fair oomplexion, freckled, auburn hair. About the end of September last offender was working for Mr. Mathers, at Te Awamutu, Auckland District, New Zealand, and left there supposed for Palmerston North. He will probably be found at some of the flax-mills under an assumed name. If found he may be induoed to pay something towards the maintenance of the child. Arrest not desired at present. Pbovidence (America). — Wanted for embezzling SIB,OOO, Julius S. Chappells, alias Robert J. Chappelle, alias Frank G. Morgan, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 6§in., weight 137 lb., medium build, chestnut hair, blue eyes, no moustache or beard, a broker and first-class confidence-man, cut in tip of middle finger, mouth opens wide when smiling, finger-nails curve over at ends, gold filling in at least one front tooth; has worked at various occupations, and for a number of years sprculated in New York ; is well-mannered, quick motions, a good story-teller; is fond of women’s society ; smokes cigarettes.
