Auckland. Abraham Bowden’s dwelling broken into: The Jubilee sovereign set with a diamond was passed through the totalisator, on the 7th ultimo, at Ellerslie racecourse, and recovered.

Auckland. William Webb, charged with theft from Harriet Clegg, has been arrested by Detectives T. Boddam and J. J. Cassells, Wellington police. The watch, No. 8074883, has not been recovered.

Newmarket (Auckland).—Ellen Hayden, Manukau Road, reports that on the 6th ultimo her dwelling was broken into and the following stolen: A ladies’ silver hunting-watch, No. 60535, glass on face broken ; a gold chain with locket attached; a gold ring set with diamonds, a dark-blue stone in centre : value, £B. Identifiable.
Waibukurau. —Albert C. Plummer, stableman, reports stolen from his dwelling in the Tavistock Hotel-yard, on the 16th ultimo, a nearly-new blue vicuna suit, “ Ringland and Thomas, tailors, Napier,” on the tab of coat, a small cut in the bottom lining of left pocket, and a doubie-breasted vest; value £5 10s. Coat only identifiable.
Waipukurau. —Daniel Hagan, contractor, Clive, reports stolen from the Tavistock Hofei, on the 19th or 20th April last, a dark-blue twill mackintosh, with small squares in pattern, cape detached, button-holes large, size 7; value £3 10s. Identifiable.

Masterton. Ernest Sigglekow, alias Tilson, charged with theft from Bert Duffy, has been arrested by Constable J. May, Martinborough police, on information supplied by Constable J. Eccleton.
Wellington. —John Douglas McLean, labourer, No. 3, Macdonald Crescent, reports stolen from his bedroom, between January and May last, a silver hunting lever watch, No. 38762, maker Flavell; value, £2 10s. Also a silver hunting Rotherham watch, No. 37207; value, £4. Identifiable.

Mount Cook (Wellington). —Cyrus Wilson, alias John Rex, and Henry Rose, alias Joseph Wilson, alias Maltravers, suspected of breaking and entering the dwellings of James David Anderson and Alexander McGregor, have been arrested at New Plymouth for several burglaries there. John Rex, alias Cyrus Wilson, has been sentenced to three years, and Henry Rose, alias Joseph Wilson, alias Maltravers, acquitted. He is now in the Stratford district, travelling under the name of Johnston. (For description, see Police Gazette, 1902, page 160; see also under “Stealing Otherwise” this issue of Gazette.)
Roxburgh. —Alexander McCrae, labourer, reports stolen from his room in Sheehy’s Hotel, Miller’s Flat, between the Bth and 10th ultimo, a plain 9-carat gold double-link pattern chain, value£4; a pair of new light boots with mohair laces, and old silk handkerchief with raised border : total value, £4 17s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to William Driscoll. Description: Supposed native of New Zealand, labourer and rabbiter, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, about twentythree years of age, dark hair, dark moustache only, sharp features; dressed in brown suit, light trousers recently mended on one knee. His relatives are said to reside in Wellington.
Dunedin. —John James Purvis, commercial traveller, Cumberland Street, reports stolen from his bedroom, on the Bth ultimo, a gentlemen’s gold hunting keyless Geneva watch, No. 38628, gold curb chain, and sovereign, and pendant of petrified wood (shark’s tooth) attached, a ladies’ gold hunting Geneva watch, No. 95005, a muff chain, and a gold locket with “ Remember me ” on it, gold horse-shoe brooch set with eleven pearls, a gold brooch set with amethyst, a tortoise-shell card-case with silver band, and ar< open-faced silver watch : total value, £2O. Identifiable.
