Deserters from Merchant Vessels.
From the British Ship “ Star of the East," at Wellington. On 11th January, 1900.
Antonio Brizzi, A. 8., a native of Italy, twenty-six years of age, about 5 ft. high, dark complexion, pleasant face, shaved except dark moustache; wore a dark suit and dark hat.
William Mercier, English, twenty-four years of age, 5 ft. 2 in. high, fair complexion, shaved except fair moustache, medium build, thin face; dressed in dark clothes; has the appearance of a fireman. Warrants issued. The' ship left Wellington for Auckland on the 16th instant, and will probably stay at the latter port for about a month, when she will sail for New York.
(See Police Gazette, 1899, page 259.) Ship “ Bedford," at Napier. J. Marshall has been arrested by Constable T. E. Creeks, and discharged. The warrant against James Purcell has been cancelled.
