Missing Friends.

Mrs. Shackle (may be going under the name of Marston) is inquired for by the Wellington police. Description: English, has been a barmaid, about forty years of age, medium height and build, fair complexion, round features, dark hair, very much addicted to drink. Formerly kept a hotel at Invercargill, with her husband. She is an important witness in a case likely to come before the Court, and it is requested that every effort may be made to find her.

Frederick Smythe is inquired for by his mother, residing at Woolston, Christchurch. Description: Fifteen years of age, about sft. high, slight build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, freckled face ; wearing a dark-tweed suit, blue cap, and lace-up shoes. He is said to be travelling with a man named Downs, who is exhibiting magic-lantern views at schools.

Charles James Gregory is inquired for by F. H. Gregory, Wensum House, Albany Road, Great Yarmouth, England. Description : English (age not stated), a rabbiter, about sft. llin. high, dark-auburn hair rather curly, had lost one eye, rather slight build, writes a bad hand, and spells inaccurately. He left Lumsden, Southland, about four years ago, for Canterbury. (95/382.)
