Arson.
Reefton. —About 3 a.m. on the 9th ultimo an unoccupied house, the property of Peter McHugh, was destroyed by fire, which it is supposed was wilfully caused. It was valued at £2OO, and insured in the Manchester Office for £l5O.
W inton. —About 11.30 p.m. on the 10th January last a threshing-mill at Hokonui, the property of William Mcßae, was destroyed by fire ; and at an inquest, held on the 26th ultimo, a verdict of incendiarism against some person or persons unknown was returned. The mill was insured for £l4O, which is considered to be over its value.
