Newcastle. —A warrant has been issued by the Newcastle Bench for the arrest of John Jeffrey, charged with unlawfully deserting his wife, Hannah Jeffrey, at Newcastle, since the 11th ultimo. He is about 6ft. high, age not stated, stout build, very strong appearance, fair complexion, blue eyes, ginger moustache, otherwise clean-shaved ; scar on right cheek very noticeable, first finger on left hand bent; dressed in navy-blue coat, much faded, black trousers with satin-like stripe, light-brown bard hat; speaks broad English ; a coal miner. Supposed to have gone to Sydney, and may go to New Zealand.
