William J. Eckersall is charged on warrant with larceny 7 , as a servant of the Coburg Shire Council, of a number of books (used by tbe Council to take accounts of money received and paid), at Coburg, on the Bth instant. Description : About thirty-six years of age, sft. 7in. high, rather light build, about 9 stone weight, dark sallow complexion, dark eyes, dark hair, whiskers beard and moustache turning grey, medium head, straight features, active, has a slight stoop when walking, and has his head resting on his breast when standing ; wore, when last seen, a light-tweed sac suit. Offender was employed as secretary to the Shire of Coburg.

He is supposed to have gone to Western Australia. Photograph in this office. Other colonies please copy. Arrest important. Defalcations believed to be extensive.—o. 1229. 13th February, 1895.

Thierry, otherwise Jean Baptiste, inquired ior by the French Consul, Melbourne.—His name is Jean Baptiste Thierry; last heard of in 1891, when he was lodging at the New Zealand Hotel, King Street, Melbourne, and is now supposed to be in New Zealand, employed as a cook. The missing man is entitled to property in France. —0.1430. 19th February', 1895.
