Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
Wanganui. —Henry Davy is charged on warrant with having deserted his wife, Emily, since about the end of March, 1894. Description : Colonial, forty-one years of age, sft. lOin. or llin. high, dark-brown hair (turning grey), heavy dark-brown moustache only, brown eyes, largo ears, medium build, broad shoulders, E.G.A. tattooed on one wrist, stoops slightly when walking, follows the occupation of a surveyors’ chainman; dressed, when last seen, in a dark coat, grey trousers, and soft brown-felt hat.

Patea. —James Charles Hardy, charged with wife-deser-tion, has been arrested by Detective Sergeant Franklin, of the Hobart Municipal Police, and remanded to New Zealand. (94/469.)

Napier.— Alexander Gillies, charged with disobeying an order for the maintenance of his son, has been arrested by the Hamilton (Waikato) Police, and remanded to Napier.

Christchurch. —Percival John Crawford, charged on warrant of commitment for failing to provide for the support of his illegitimate child, has been arrested by Constable F. J. Healy, Wellington police, and lodged in the Terrace Gaol, the warrant having been altered accordingly.

Christchurch. —John Porter Murray, charged with deserting his children, has been arrested by Detective Kirby, Napier police, and ordered to pay £1 per week.
