Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
Auckland. —Edward Robson is charged on warrant with having deserted his wife, Henrietta, at Auckland, since the 12th April last. Description : English, a carpenter, thirtythree years of age, sft. Sin. high, slight build, fair complexion, fair hair beard whiskers and moustache, partly bald, top of first left finger has been injured, and is slightly deformed. He was at Marriner’s Gumfields, near Mangawliare, up to March last, and is supposed to have gone to Marapui, or Babylon, up the Kaihu Valley, but cannot now be traced in these places.

(See Police Gazette, ISB9, page 204.) William Frederick Moran, charged with deserting his wife and children, was arrested by Constable M. Murphy, Wellington Police, on the 14th January last, and discharged on the following day.
