Incendiarism.
Free Pardon.—£loo Bcioard. Department of Justice, Wellington, 3rd December, 1888. Whereas on or about the 19th September last an unoccupied building situated in Gladstone Road, Gisborne, and known as the Star Brewery, was set on fire : This is to notify that His Excellency the Governor will grant a free pardon to any person implicated in the said fire, not being the principal offender, who will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of any one or more of the other offenders ; and that the Phoenix Fire Office offers a reward of £IOO to any person, not being the principal offender, who shall first give such information. £250 Reioard,
Whereas on the 3rd day of October last the premises of Hobday’s Canterbury Co-operative Stores Company (Limited), situated in Cashel Street, Christchurch, were totally destroyed by fire : If the said fire was not the result of accident, a reward of £250 will be paid to the person or persons who gives or give such evidence as in my opinion leads to the conviction of the person who caused the said fire.
