Information is requested respecting Joseph Roger Haynes, a native of the colony, a labourer and a survey-hand, about thirty-seven years of age, about 5 feet 11 inches high, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, sandy beard whiskers and moustache, sometimes shaved on chin; usually wears blue-serge suit and black hard hat; married. He had been in the Constabulary, and may endeavour to obtain an appointment again. He left Foxton about five weeks ago. He is inquired for so that ho may be proceeded against for the recovery of arrears due for the support of his children in the Nelson Industrial School.

Information is requested respecting Isaac Edmonds, a native of England, a miner, &c., about forty-one years of age, about 5 feet 11 inches high, stout build, straight upright carriage, fresh complexion, light-brown hair beard whiskers and moustache, scar on upper lip. Ho left Canterbury in 18G4 for Waikato, joined a Militia regiment, and was stationed at Cambridge, where it is said he was allotted land. He is inquired for at the instance of his brother, George Edmonds.

Information is requested respecting William Bramlcy, a native of England, a farmer, about thirty-two years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, slight active appearance, fair complexion, light-brown hair and moustache, very slight whiskers, chin shaved, well educated, very gentlemanly manner; usually wears light-tweed suit, and round black hard felt hat. He was seen on the evening of the Bth ultimo at Governor’s Bay, and early on the following morning his clothes (except hat) which he wore the previous evening were found on the Beach Road, Governor’s Bay, about one and a half miles from his residence. A towel was on top of the clothing, suggesting that he had gone into the sea to bathe. An unsuccessful search was made for his body in the harbour about where the clothes were found. He, a few days previously, sold most of his stock, his farm implements, &c., and received, on the 7th ultimo, a cheque for £79 from the auctioneer, which he cashed, receiving the greater portion of the money in gold. The police are of opinion that he was not drowned, but has left the district. He at one time had a farm at Harewood Road, near Papanui. He is inquired for at the instance of his wife.

Information is requested respecting John James Croft, a native of England, a gentleman, fifty-nine years of ago, about 5 feet 10 inches high, fair hair inclined to grey, blue eyes, walks very steadily. He arrived in Canterbury by the ship “ Ashburton ”in November, 18G8. It is supposed he went to the Otago Gold Fields, and frequented the station of a Mr. McNab, on the Mataura River.

Information is requested respecting Julia Bateman, sometimes called Berry, supposed a native of Dublin, a cook or general servant, about forty-one years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, slight build, dark complexion, long visage, dark hair turning grey. She arrived in Wellington from London about seven years ago, and acted as housekeeper for John Ward, late a drummer in the Gsth Regiment, and a messenger in the- Government Buildings up to the time of his death, which occurred about six years ago. She left Porirua about four years ago, and has not since been heard of. She is inquired for at the instance of her sister, who resides in New York.

Information is requested respecting William Blake Graham, late lieutenant of the 18th Royal Irish and 87th Royal Irish Fusileer Regiments. He came to this colony about the year 1858, and was appointed on the staff at Dunedin, where he remained some years, and was then transferred to Wanganui and appointed adjutant to the Wanganui Militia. He resigned his appointment in the Militia on the 20th July, 18G7, and became sub-editor of the Wanganui Herald. He is inquired for at the instance of Mr. Bowen, Customs Department.

Information is requested respecting D. R. P. Harris, a native of London, a chemist, but may be employed about an hotel or railway camp, thirty-six years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, medium build, red hair beard whiskers and moustache, one of hands partly disabled from a scald, good address, fond of drink. He was heard of at Patea on the 23rd May, 1883. He is known at nearly all the money order offices in the Wellington and Hawke’s Bay Provincial Districts. He is inquired for at the instance of his father, who is anxious to hear from him,

Information is requested respecting Nellie Ruth, a cook, thirty years of ago, 5 feet high, slight build, thin face, long thin nose, dark hair with fringe worn on forehead; drosses well, wears rings on her fingers, and had a gold watch and chain. She was employed as cook at the Central Hotel, Christchurch, and left there about May, 1882, and came to Wellington about a month after, where she directed her letters to be sent. She is inquired for in order that proceedings may bo taken against her for the support of her child, who is an inmate of the Nelson Industrial School.

Information is requested respecting George Alfred Bradbury, about twenty-seven years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, dark hair parted in centre, rather flat nose. He left London on tho 19th January, 1878, by the ship “ Waikato ” for Lyttelton. He was in the employment of a Mr. Chapman, at South Rakaia, from June, 1879, until February, 1880, when he left, it is supposed, for the North Island. He was previously in the employment of Mr. Goss and Mr. Strange, at Christchurch. He is inquired for at the instance of John Head, 18, Haymarket, S.W., London.
