Offences Not Otherwise Described.
John Crawford is charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with having, on the 3rd ultimo, at Wellington, embezzled the sum of £1 14s. 10d., the money of Alfred Barlow. Description : English, a butcher, about twentyfour years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, medium build, fair complexion, fair hair, clean-shaved except moustache and goatee. Identifiable. May go to Wanganui, where he has worked for some time as a butcher.

It has been ascertained that James Brodie, charged with having, on the 11th October last, at Onohunga, forged a cheque for £2 on the Bank of New Zealand, is identical with John Brady, described in Police Gazette, 1879, page 188. He formerly belonged to the 58tli Regiment, and is an old offender at Auckland.

Maliciously throwing a stone at the passenger-train from Port Chalmers to Dunedin on the 29th ultimo: The Dunedin Detective Police have ascertained that this offence was committed by two boys, named George and William Odman, who left Dunedin for Melbourne a few days afterwards, in company with their mother.
On the 13th ultimo three sheep, the property of John McDonald, were found drowned in the Kauri Creek, near Raglan. It is supposed that the sheep were maliciously driven into the creek by a farmer named Charles Gilmour, residing at Raglan.
On the night of the 9th instant the hasp of the letter-box at the corner of Aran and Hull Streets, Oarnaru, the property of the Government, was broken; value 3s.

It has now been ascertained that the anchor brand on a red heifer, the property of E. W. D. Matthews, was not defaced.
